Dear All
I have win2k3 server in my office and HP DLT drive v80GB dlt drive for our backup purpose. I want to schdule our daily backup. I am using win2k3's backup utility for the same..... I have 2 issues here * I schduled the backup everyday night 11pm for the selective folders, using schdule option in the backup utility, first two days backup is taken ( checked the log file) , from 3rd day onwards my log files shows " can't find the media to mount, backup unsuccessful". But i am making sure everyday before leaving from office i am inserting the catridge into drive. But if i try to take backup manually i am able to take. I don't know what is reason media can't be found.. even i deleted existing backup job and created new job,, but no gain same thing is happening from the day one. Can someone help me out. * I have SQL server also running in that server, also i want to take backup of our running database everyday( *.ldf & *.mdf) but while sql is running i can't take backup of those files (file is in use), how do i stop sql at the time of taking backup and start automatically after completing the backup. I want to automate this backup. If anybody have some script kindly share it with me...... Thanks in Advance Sakthi |

Check your scheduled tasks and you will see that one of them is your backup job.
If you check the properties you will see a really long command that is your backup. You need to add /UM to the end of the command. I don't have an example to look at so this might not be 100% accurate. |
