Media disconnected
Hi ,
I had problem with my newly installed windows 2003 server,i got a error of media disconnected when a give command ipconfig/all,this is first post.

Make sure your network switch / hub is on and make sure Ethernet cable connected to both switch and your server.
Next make sure driver installed for your Lan card and it is properly configured

Media disconnected
Hi ,
Thank you for your information,but i am installing standalone server in my residence for testing.So i don't have switch,ethernet cable on that.

it will not work, all network card must be connected if you need networking media. You will get same error for Linux and windows server.
if you have 2 computers you can use cross connection cable
