Default mod_auth on subdomains with Lighttpd

Hi, I want to set up authentication for a sub domain.

From lighttpd.conf:

$HTTP["host"] =~ "safetalking.bobstudio.com" {
server.indexfiles = ("index.html")
server.document-root = "/var/www/safetalking"
auth.debug = 0
auth.backend = "plain"
auth.backend.plain.userfile = "/home/joe/lighttpd/safetalking-auth.txt"
auth.require = ("safetalking.bobstudio.com" =>
(
"method" => "basic",
"realm" => "Password protected area",
"require" => "user=sound"
)
}

safetalking-auth.txt just contains safe:talking

Thanks

Hi,

The line:
Code:
auth.require = ("safetalking.bobstudio.com" =>
Should be:
Code:
auth.require = ("/var/www/safetalking" =>
Lighttpd setup a password protected directory (directories)

Rockdalinux,

I've tried that still to no avail, the thing is I want the user to login to a part of the website that isnt a directory view, just a static html page.

Thanks

Is this possible?
