how do i configure and install apache server in debian based linux?

I want to know the installation and configuration of Apache server in debian based linux. In redhat the configuration file is /etc/httpd.conf but in debian iam not getting it and at the same tell me what are the changes that i have to make in configuration file for running the service with out any disturbance.

In debian apache conf's reside in /etc/apache or /etc/apache2 depending on your version.
Debian splits the config file to many and the directories containing the files are included with an "Include" directive. The main config file for apache 2.x on debian is apache2.conf. and for 1.3.x its httpd.conf.
