Check out dhclient.conf dhcp client. It has limited support for Dynamic Dns
Code:
send fqdn.fqdn "client06.example.com."; send fqdn.encoded on; send fqdn.server-update off;

Hay Nix.. i am not clear what you mention.. can you point me to any doc on this?
And one more thing.. most of the Linux machines are not using dhcp to get ip add.. they are assigned manually..
