Default Asus Eee PC Install Logitech Webcam

Hello,

I recently got a new computer with Linux installed on it. It is an Asus Eee PC series notebook computer and it has no CDROM. It does have 3 USB ports.

I am pretty much an idiot when it comes to installing things and I have no clue if it is possible to install a webcam onto this computer. I purchased a Logitech webcam earlier but it needed a CDROM port to install the software.

Any comment on how I could go about putting one onto here would be awesome. Also if it is impossible then that would be helpful to so I could just stop trying.

It is just listed as the Logitech Quick Cam for Notebooks on their website. Its the circular of the two versions rather than the oval shaped webcam.

If this is not applicable to my computer system then I would be willing to hear any other options on webcams as well that could work for my computer.

I have an eeepc too, my experience is that the default Asus linux installed is very limited so I installed OpenSUSE 11

My advice to you is to hookup an external USB cdrom and install linux mint 7 or ubuntu.

btw does your eeepc not have a built in camera?
