start service permanently in debian
Hi Gurus
I am new to debian. What is the command to start a service **permanently** in debian. I want to start vsftpd thanks Last edited by nixcraft; 13-06-2008 at 01:16 PM.

I believe there is a How To on this site for installing Chkconfig in Debian if thats what you want.
Or You could use update-rc.d Making scripts run at boot time with Debian

Use following tutorial and tools:
Ubuntu / Debian Linux: Services Configuration Tool to Start / Stop System Services BTW, vsftpd should start automatically under Debian.
