Hi Gurus

I am new to debian.

What is the command to start a service **permanently** in debian.

I want to start vsftpd

I believe there is a How To on this site for installing Chkconfig in Debian if thats what you want.

Or

You could use update-rc.d

Use following tutorial and tools:
Ubuntu / Debian Linux: Services Configuration Tool to Start / Stop System Services

BTW, vsftpd should start automatically under Debian.
