What is BSD / POSIX ???

When some body asks what you are using ... BSD or POSIX ???

How to find this ??? And what is this ???

POSIX is unix standard i.e Portable Operation System Interface.This is the standard for Unix.BSD is Berkeley Software Distribution is also standards of os.

BSD is not a standard like Posix. BSD is a unix derivative from University of California, Berkeley. FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD are descendants of BSD.
