Hi,
I have two questions. 1) I have a SCSI adapter installed on a Solaris 10 box that I use to attach an LTO4 tape drive. What command do I use to find out the model of the SCSI adapter? 2) How can I find out how much data has been written to an LTO4 tape after a backup job? Thanks. Well,
I can answer the first question. And I am no SUN expert, so be advised. But this should help you: You will need to install the sun device detection utility due to the lack of scsi probe utilities. BigAdmin HCL: Sun Device Detection Tool Also, Try running this as root: Code:
Prompt>cfgadm -al Jaysunn

Hi,
It seems like the Sun Device Detection Tool only runs from X and not from command line. We cannot run X on the server. There might be a way to install it, but I am a Windows admin and don't know much about Solaris. This is the output I got from your command: Ap_Id Type Receptacle Occupant Condition c0 scsi-bus connected configured unknown c0::dsk/c0t0d0 CD-ROM connected configured unknown c1 scsi-bus connected configured unknown c1::dsk/c1t0d0 disk connected configured unknown c1::dsk/c1t1d0 disk connected configured unknown c1::dsk/c1t2d0 disk connected configured unknown c1::dsk/c1t3d0 disk connected configured unknown c2 scsi-bus connected unconfigured unknown c3 scsi-bus connected configured unknown c3::rmt/0 tape connected configured unknown c4 scsi-bus connected unconfigured unknown usb0/1 unknown empty unconfigured ok usb0/2 unknown empty unconfigured ok |

Hey,
I am going to install a SUN virtual machine on my personal system. I need to test this stuff. However, like I said, I am no Solaris admin. However I am very interested. So stand by, I will have a fully operational sun system soon. As of now, Try this page. Should Help. Please let me know if it does.......................
