Question change the default port for a service

Hello,
please, how to change the default port for a service on my solaris/Linux servers?
example: i want to make the telnet to work only on port 999?
OR: i want to make telnet work on both default port(23) & port 999?

You will have to change this in the configuration file of the telnet server.

You can't. There is no option for in.telnetd to pass under /etc/inetd.conf file. You better use secure shell such as OpenSSH which is avilable under Sun OS 10.
