Default ATI raedon graphics card and slackware

Hi,
I ve recently installed Slackware 12.0 linux on my [HP dc7800p] PC. When i switch to the Desktop environment i.e. KDE.The graphics are totally ruined. the colours are inverted and the fonts are also not visible properly.I m using ATI raedon graphics card .What might be the issue?

i think you should read more about the configuration in slackware book, salckware require much more hand configurating than another
