    Default how to enable a user and disabling a user

    could any one help me in finding the script for enabling and disabling a user

    i have gone thru the material saying tht we need to add a * at the passwd file
    but i am unable to preform it
    please
    can any one helpme in getting the code ...
    urgent

    Default

    No need to put *. use following command to lock user account
    Code:
    passwd  -l {user-name}
    To unlock user account
    Code:
    passwd  -u {user-name}
