    Default How you make a port listen to data ip in linux

    Dear All,

    Please tell me how we need to make port listen to data ip.

    ex: 192.168.19.11 is my data ip through which my data transfers , and I am also having Management ip through which I can login.

    Now i need to make port 161 to listen to data ip that is 192.168.19.11

    You need to start service so that it will listen on a particular port. For example, to listen on port 80 under RHEL, you type
    Code:
    service httpd start
    To view port status
    Code:
    netstat -tulpn
    netstat -tulpn | grep 161
