Smile Body rule not working in spam assassin

    Hi Guys,

Firstly a big hello, I am new to this forum and it looks like a great resource for help and information. I hope to add as i become ore experienced in Linux!

I'm having a problem at work and was wondering if someone could help me. My boss is getting a lot of spam and i'm trying to add a rule to the local.cf file in /etc/mail/spamassassin directory but it is just not working. I'v tested my regular expression and it is finding the phrase in the body but when i put the rule in restart spamaassassin and send a est email from another account it still lets the email through, if I paste the rule down here could someone advise me if I'm doing something wrong:

    body DAVE_SPAM_RULE /467411.htm/
    score DAVE_SPAM_RULE 100 100 100 100
describe DAVE_SPAM_RULE Detected the link 467411.htm in the email

Spam assassin is used with amavisd as the daemon and postfix and the MTA

    Thanks in advance

What about log file? It logs lots of data. Also you need to configure MUA to trust spamassin to check for score and move them to spam folder.

    MUA is (Mail User Agent)

Examples of MUA are outlook, thunderbird, webmail etc.

    Few thoughts:

    - Do you have a example email you can "feed" spamassassin ? via `spamassassin -D < $yourfile` and watch the debug info and if it catches your rule. If not you can make one easy enough
    - Did you 'hup' spamassassin after you added the config (I know its basic but I have to ask).
    - Your score should work with just "score DAVE_SPAM_RULE 100" if you want to clean things up.
    - Are you sure that body is the right thing you need for this rule ? Is the .html a attachment ? If so you might want to use 'full' vs 'body' in your rule.

    Hope these suggestions help!
