    Default linux apps under freebsd

Using PC-BSD, ver 8.0. Probably a lame question, but here goes...

Can I expect to be able to run linux apps?

How about java / php based applications made for linux?

(Looking to try NolaPro for biz accounting. and epesibim for interfacing systems and features not covered by nolapro.)

PHP and java based apps should run under any platform including UNIX/FreeBSD and/or Windows server.

Default ty info.... how easy to move a jail?

TY for the reply. Suppose you set these things up in a jail and then want to move to another system.... is that impossible or doable?

(I understand jails are not really virtual systems.)

Yes, you can move jails too. Simply dump jail dir to another host.

    Default awesome, lot's of Qs

    Sweet!

Ty for the reply. I would guess that the version and update status of freebsd would have to be the same on both servers. True?

But would the system configuration have to be the same or very similar? (different processor and video come to mind; likely different drive maps)
