    Hi eawedat,
Which ubuntu do you use? Hardy, karmic? Please tell us what you have for these commands :
    cat /etc/issue
    and
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Maybe you don't have the right repositories configured to get cvs.

And please use aptitude instead of apt-get !!!

Ok, did you try aptitude update before trying to install?

If aptitude update shows no error and it still doesn't work after, try replacing in your /etc/apt/sources.list "http://mirror.isoc.org.il/pub/ubuntu/" by "http://il.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/". You can do that with this command :
    Code:
    sudo sed 's/http:\/\/mirror\.isoc\.org\.il\/pub\/ubuntu\//http:\/\/il.archive.ubuntu.com\/ubuntu\//g' -i /etc/apt/sources.list
Then aptitude update && aptitude install cvs

why do you i have to write your code?
why sources.list is not updated already if i downloaded the latest version of Ubuntu

I mean why do i have to change if the release is updated??

I think its negative issue for Ubuntu

    thanks.
