    Unhappy cvs access problem...

    Hi Forum,

I am trying to access the cvs; I issue following commands :

    export CVS_RSH=ssh
    cvs -d anoncvs@cvs.tuxbox.org:/cvs/tuxbox -z3 co -P .

    after several minute later.....

ssh: connect to host cvs.tuxbox.org port 22: No route to host
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

I get above response. In past many occasion I access this cvs repository without any problem but now without any change in client (in my computer) the whole system kicking cvs command out altogether. I wonder what gone wrong suddenly???
I manage to update the same repository using cvs update; never had any problem before in past.

Is any one came across such sudden change in cvs access. Please guide.

    Thank you in advance.

    Shy.

    Code:
ssh: connect to host cvs.tuxbox.org port 22: No route to host
--- this clearly indicates that your pc is not able to communicate with the server..
Try pinging to the CVS server from your PC.. If ping is blocked to this CVS server try telneting to the server on port 22
    Code:
    telnet cvs.tuxbox.org 22
Let us know if you are able to resolve the issue..

    Default CVS problem...

Well I did tried earlier telenet-ing to port 22 but seems to be blocked

    Following message get:

telnet: cvs.tuxbox.org: Temporary failure in name resolution
    cvs.tuxbox.org: Host name lookup failure

I assume the port is blocked but when I ping the tuxbox.org get response and
    ips.

Hope so this will help to reach some conclusion?

    no man its not blocked..

    Code:
     Temporary failure in name resolution
This indicates that there is some issue with dns..

can you try to access your CVS through IP?
    Thanks,

I did noticed my resolv.conf is not up to standard.

    ; generated by /sbin/dhclient-script
    search onami.co.uk
    nameserver 192.168.1.254

cause at my home network I have router from ISP provider who receive IP from some where DHCP and from local ip pool distribute number to my pc

the above nameserver is actually router IP 192.168.1.254

Is it possible to use any Primary and Secondary server IP ?
    to resolve conf ?????

To my surprise how this sudden change past two years I did not encounter this problem.

    any clue.....

Oh.... yes ... if I access through IP then it requires a password

    which I do not have.

although accessing under anoncvs is the only choice I have.

since I have changes my resolve.conf by adding following nameservers

    (contents of resolv.conf)

    search o2.co.uk
    nameserver 208.67.222.222
    nameserver 208.67.220.220 =================================

    [shylock_1@tomcat tuxbox]$ telnet cvs.tuxbox.org 22
    Trying 67.215.66.132...
telnet: connect to address 67.215.66.132: No route to host

    AND
when I trying to access cvs as anoncvs as follow:

    [shylock_1@tomcat tuxbox]$ cvs -d anoncvs@cvs.tuxbox.org:/cvs/tuxbox -z3 co -P .
ssh: connect to host cvs.tuxbox.org port 22: No route to host
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

the above response got from it seems to going round.

    Thanks in advance.

    No.. not at all.

Setting are exactly as they were previously used the cvs.

But now I understood that the server tuxbox.org is down.
