Default Enabling Audit logs using psacct

Can anyone tell how to keep a trace of the commands executed by users using psacct. I have found commands for this utility but i want log files to get generated instead of using commands so that i have a permanent record of the activities done by the users.
Another thing is that the commands(e.g sa,ac) provide a very deep process level output. which i like only the commands executed by the users.
help is appreciated in advanced.
