Thread: What is tproxy? How do I configure tproxy using iptables and squid?

Dear Friends,

What is tproxy..?What is the use of it..?Please guide me and how to use it with squid....tproxy and transaparent proxy is same or what are the differences between them...?

Transparent proxying involves "intercepting" traffic on a router. This is done with the iptables REDIRECT NAT target; however, there are serious limitations of that method. One of the major issues is that it actually modifies the packets to change the destination address -- which might not be acceptable in certain situations. It will also not work with UDP or HTTPS traffic. The TPROXY provides similar functionality without relying on NAT.

Means in tproxy we have to use public ips at customer end...and there is no need to do nating for the same...

And puublic ips are required to use of tproxy with squid or ....?

Please guide me with more details about tproxy....

I have same problem we need also provide public IP to end customer. since according to govt. policy can u tell us the how we use t-proxy because we cannot installed it. i am ready to pay ur fee. my mail id is batramit@gmail.com
