Exactly like Wademac said.
Btw. I suppose you mean OpenSuSE 11?
If so, you might want to upgrade/fresh install to 11.1
I find it more stable then 11.0
SUSE 11 from Novell is free to use as well but does not get support from Novell without a contract.
To be frank I found OpenSuse 11.1 more usable than Fedora 11 due to Yast2 tool. Redhat is more like command line and they change tools name too. I'm using it on old HP P3 + 512RAM+40GB hdd laptop and works great(a little slow but works nicely).
I'm thinking to getting a new laptop from Dell. They are offering preloaded Ubuntu. Can you provide some suggestions for new laptop?

Linux rulz.
I have never turned back in my life ; I shall not do so today.. haha
Well if dell provides a laptop preloaded with linux then the hardware is carefully selected and it should be 100% supported. Most laptops have tricky hardware and the bottleneck (with me) is allways an Nvidia card

Dell, HP, Asus, System 76 and few more offers preinstalled Linux. Both System 76 and Dell got good reviews. Personally, I've Ubuntu installed on Dell 6400 and there is no problem at all.
