Default Firewall issues

Hi,

I came across a peculiar problem in Linux system. Firstly when i tried to access internet with Ip as *.*.*.198 . But now becuase of certain change in requirement i have changed my Ip to *.*.*.98 now i am not able to access Internet. Folks can there be any issue of firewall for this machine if yes then help me. I made changes in my system to access Netwrok in Network proxy and network for eth0. But when i was accessing my Internet eth0 has option " Bind to MAC address" enabled. But now with new Ip it is not enabled . Moreover i am able to ping in default gateway/ router but from router/gateway my machine i not visible. Is this issue left to be resoleved on my machine or on routre? Kindly help.

Thanks & Regards
Shilpi

This is your firewall issue running on current Linux box. Just stop a firewall and see if you could access the internets

Default how to manage firewall services.

Hi,

to stop the firewall service you can use..

service iptables stop (it will change default policy to accept )
or
iptables -F ( This will flush all the iptables rule)
