Default Slow arp and route output - network issue?

Hi folks,

Actually i have a network like this:

MZ
WEB SERVER 192.168.2.2 <=> Cisco PIX <=> Corp LAN DB SERVER (192.168.0.141)

The Web Server runs a tomcat server which makes requests to the DB SERVER (in Corp LAN) through out a firewall.

The point is that, few days ago, the requests started to take a long time (about 20 seconds) to process, and also, the output of running arp and route commands are slow (about 20 seconds)s).
Before that, the output of both commands was really fast. I think this is a network issue.

Do any of you have experience with this issue?

I will appreciate your help and assistance.

Thanks,

Make sure DNS is working properly. Many network services do reverse dns lookup and that may cause the problem.

Red face

I just wanna let you know that the problem was the with the dns lookup as you said.

I waited to the problem to come again and then change the DNS server in resolv.conf.

This was the solution.

Thanks!!!
