Hi folks,
Ubuntu 7.04 server amd64 (Host OS, mail server) VMWare (virtual server) CentOS 5 (Guest OS) I'm prepared installing webmail on the mail server. Can folks on the forum please share me your experience. I found following 3 webmail software on Open Source; Squirrelmail SquirrelMail - Webmail for Nuts! Uebimiau UebiMiau.org Roundcube The RoundCube Webmail Project 1) Are there other software recommended other than abovementioned ? 2) Of the 3 mentioned above which of them will be the first choice ? 3) Squirrelmail has long history. Is it easy to configure? 4) Would it be a better idea installing webmin on the Guest OS, CentOS 5, and connect it to the users' mail boxes on the Host OS, Ubuntu 7.04 ? Or just on the same OS where the mail server resides. TIA Edit: Sorry, the topic should read "Seeking advice on webmail software". I can't get it rectified. Yup Squirrelmail is good choice. I recommend using same server as mail server for ease of management.
Another option for webmail The Horde Project |

I like RoundCube for the ajax interface and elegant design.
As for other solutions than what have already been named I can think of FelaMiMail which is included in the egroupware package.

Thanks for your advice. Whether you meant; Package: phpgroupware-felamimail (0.9.16.012+dfsg-1) phpGroupWare felamimail (Squirrelmail) module Debian -- Details of package phpgroupware-felamimail in sid But I can't find this package on; phpGroupWare phpgroupware.org :: phpGroupWare Any advice? You're on the right track there. Note: phpGroupWare is not eGroupWare.
eGroupWare: Applications I found a package for ubuntu: Ubuntu -- egroupware-felamimail Looks like it depends on eGroupWare which could be kind of overkill for you although it's quite a nice free groupware (used it myself for some time).

Personally, i like to install those web apps manually via the install packages provided directly by the devs (eGroupWare: Home).
I think apt should solve all the dependencies itself when you apt-get install egroupware-core or emailadmin.
