Exclamation Sandmail Setup

Hi all,

I am trying to install sendmail-8.14.1 on my standalone Suse10 pc.

I have procmail and spamassassin installed. Now I want to install sendmail and want to test the spamassassin functionality.

I have downloaded the sendmail-8-14.1.tar.gz from sendmail.org. I tried to install the same by studying the INSTALL script, but I am getting confused while following it.

Can anyone give me a step by step instruction how to install sendmail and configure it with spamassassin.

Can both sendmail and procmail work at a time?

I am trying to do this for my own understading and development. As in near future my client may ask me for help on this matter.

TIA

If you never used sendmail - go with Postfix MTA as it offers ease of use and bit more secure as compare to sendmail. Sendmail config syntax is horrible. To install postfix (or sendmail) type yast2 or yast at shell prompt and select software installation. No need to download tar ball and install from source code.
