I have installed a SENDMAIL MAIL SERVER on one RHEL5 server and that server is using public ip address and the server has been configured correctly and i am able to send and recieve e-mails on on lan or local network... I want you to please help me out how can i send/receive mails from the internet i mean to say what settings i have to make in what configuration files to make mails send and receive over the internet... First you will require the dedicated IP address to the mail server and need to set MX record in your DNS editor which points to your mail record. Without these record you cannot sent/receive emails through internet. However, this can only be work for local servers.
