Hi everyone,
I am using opensuse 10.3 and I am trying use sendmail application, but the configuration of sendmail is very complex and tiring. If someone comes up with a simple configuration or an alternative mail sending application, it would be of great help. Thanks in advance. |

I don't have much knowledge about Bind, as I have always installed DjbDNS on my servers. If you need help installing that, look at A djbdns guide & tutorial - djbdnsrocks.org. Just install DNSCache, if you just need DNS resolving capability.

For any mail server you need to set mx record using DNS software such as BIND or djbdns. Mx record always point to exact location of mail server to receive an email. Many ISP and domain provider have option to configur this via control panel. Do you have your own dns servers? Do you run Postfix for LAN / Wan? Is it connected to the Internet 24x7? Depend upon these answer we can suggest you action...
