Unhappy VMware ESX server && Solaris 10 on same PC ??

Hi all,

I tried to install Solaris 10 and then VMware ESX server v3.02 on the same PC (or hard drive). But after successfully installing Solaris 10, when I installed Vmware ESX Server on the same drive(but on different partition, boot menu is not coming.
It is just booting Vmware only.

Pls help.

Any suggestions.

Thanks n' Regards,
VIKAS

I think VMWARE ESX itself act like os and it will remove solaris or any other os. You need to install solaris inside VMWARE ESX

Default Why not use VMware Workstation

Hi,

I am sure you are trying to do this setup to test both products, as this can't be a production enviornment. My suggestion to you would be to setup Windows Xp. Then install Vmware workstation. Inside VMware workstation install Solaris 10 and inside another Virtual machine install VMware ESX. Please note you will need an Intel VT enabled laptop to do this. It should resolve your problem.

You might want to look on how Solaris 10 work on VMware at the following post:

Sun Solaris 10 (x86) under VmWare

I hope this help you a bit .
