Virtual Memory is an addressing scheme (real / virtual) etc

swap file or swap partition used by operating systems (Linux/UNIX/Window to provide virtual memory.

However both terms are often used to refer same thing hence it lead to some confusion

Yes when we talk about them in a Theory World or in the Computer Science world its just as you said Rocky
And when talking about them in the Technical world they are nearly the same and just as you said Rocky they really are confusing for people

For me I knew them when I took the Operating System Course in my MS.c. study
