Samba Problem
I have configured Samba sever and shares but when I tried to get share from Windows 98 , it shows" \\sam\IPC$ "and asks for password which I have never configured.
It is a hidden system share but i dont understand how to tackle it. With regards, Sam

I had same problem I solved it as follows
First I added user to samba server called chiku using command a) Add user to linux adduser chiku passwd chiku b) Add user to samba smbpasswd –a chiku c) restart the samba d) When login to windows 98 I put the username and password as follows username: chiku password: chiku’s password set on linux samba server e) Now I can use it .. But I don’t know how it works may be some one on forum through some light
