Hi All,
How to handle these Log files which i got in /var/log/squid files which files are neccessary and which we can backup and delete. please help me regarding this. [root@intranet squid]# ls access.log access.log..2 access.log.3.gz access.log.5.gz cache.log.2.gz cache.log.5.gz store.log.1.gz store.log.4.gz access.log.1.gz access.log.2.gz access.log.4 cache.log cache.log.3.gz squid.log store.log.2.gz store.log.5.gz access.log.2 access.log.3 access.log.4.gz cache.log.1.gz cache.log.4.gz store.log store.log.3.gz |

Current file name is access.log or cache.log all other files are old one which can be deleted or can be moved to tape backup using mv command.
You can configure log file logrotate http://www.cyberciti.biz/faqs/2006/0...-log-files.php hope this helps
