Dear All,

What is a sit0 interface?. When we issue the ifconfig -a command in FC5 or RHEL 4, it shows a sit0 interface. What is this interface? and what are its uses?.

sit is use to setup of point-to-point tunnel.

sit is an acronym for "simple internet transition" and is basically a device capable of encapsulating ipv6 in ipv4 datagrams.
