Hi,
I have always wanted to upgrade my FC3 to FC4, but was sceptical as i am kind of an amateur in linux. Today i tried to upgrade it by following the steps in fedora website using yum. But on rebooting i did not find FC4 nor did the original FC3 boot. I obtained the FC4 discs(4 CD' and upgraded to FC4. After 3 hours and no errors, it asked me to reboot. The system started all the processes successfully except nfs and iiimf server(perhaps the language server) which failed. Finally after webmin started OK, the system got hung. This is the process repeating everytime i boot the computer. I used the installation CD's to "reupgrade" but it hangs after starting all the processes. Anyone with a solution? i have some important data on the harddisk, so i cannot format it. |
