Default Access yahoo messenger voice and webcam via squid proxy server

I got my squid proxy server up and running on SuSe10 with user authentication. Everything works like a charm. However, when I tried to view webcam on yahoo messenger from my friend, it's saying "sorry, you appear to be behind a firewall and are currently unable to use yahoo webcam..."

I know that yahoo webcam is using TCP port 5100, and I can't figure out how to make it work. Do I have to open port 5100 in proxy server ? If so, how? Please helppppppppppppppp. I will send million of thanks if anyone can help me with.

Default Yahoo Messenger Firewall / Proxy server settings for squid proxy

Assuming that you are using Windows Xp/Vista’s Yahoo! Messenger

Open Yahoo! Messenger
Open the Login menu in Messenger.
Click on Preferences, then click on the Connection tab.
Click on Use proxies.
Now enter your firewall proxy server's address and port number.
Save the changes and Login

If that doesn't work...
Click on Firewall with no proxies, then hit the OK button at the bottom.
Messenger will ask you if you want to try to log on with your new proxy settings. Click the Yes button.

Default Hi

Thanks for your input. However, that was my first try. I can chat on yahoo messenger going through my proxy server, but I never get to view the webcam. I heard that with proxy server in house, webcam and voice chat don't work. I am working around and see it I can make it. Please let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks a lot.

No you can't use Yahoo if you are behind a firewall or proxy. However some people uses hole punching technique to bypass protection get the result for the same. Search using google for firewall hole punching / UDP hole punching for more info. Skype is one of the product which uses this technique.
