Default Help ... I mess up with my ADSL router

I have broadband connection. Under windows it works fine. In order to use it under Linux I changed few things

My Linux comp : 192.168.1.1
My ADSL router : 192.168.1.1 (Default IP)
So I changed the ADSL ip by logging into it web interface http://192.168.1.1/ and did setup 192.168.1.254 IP. Then I setup Linux IP 192.168.1.1 and /etc/resolv.conf updated for DNS stuff... and it worked fine without problem for 1 hr. Then electricity went for 5 minute; when it come back I switched on PC now My connection is not working Under Linux as well as Windows? I can see DSL link up on router

So again I logged in to Linux and tried to reconfigure Router using URL http://192.168.1.1/ and it giving me error connection refused (same with window. I don’t changed password on router but still this error I’m writing this message on forun using my dial up connection any help?

I have also called tech support at ISP they will come and see it tomorrow. It is new ADSL D-Link 502T router

Any help? Advice…

Well.. Linux has nothing to do with this mess!

If you are not getting username/password prompt when you try to connect to your router that means you are using wrong IP. My guess is you haven't saved the data to router. So your IP is still is 192.168.1.1; try something as follows on Linux:

Code:
ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.2 up
Open browser and fire the configuration http://192.168.1.1

Lemee know if this works or not...
