Dear sir and friends,
I have deleted my swap partition at /dev/hda5 . I booted from CDROM in rescue mode and created new SWAP partition of 128 MB. unfortunately I didn't remember the size of previous SWAP partition . After rebooting machine INITRD starts loading into memory but hangs. I think I need to create new "initrd " image relevant to my SWAP partition. I tried to create initrd after booting in rescue mode.I changed chroot to /mnt/sysimage and issued command for initrd. But it creates initrd files into temp partition instead of creating image into /boot folder. I am puzzeled how to solve this problem. Hope help from you. Your friend, Sameer |

Ramdisk must be stored in /initrd directory or it may be used using /dev/initrd.
If it is in tmp dir then you can copy the image to above directory i.e. /initrd I don't think so you need to create new ram disk when you create swap partition but you need correct entries in /etc/fstab boot into rescue mode and make sure your swap partition points to correct location |
