Thread: Ethernet problem

I have installed RHEL5.1 in my home pc ..............Intel R 2GHZ with 2MB cache,

by defaults am not getting ethernet drivers for this some people forceed me to buy the Ethernet Know i have buy the pci card ................?

like this i have seen till know number off problems ..............

I dont think linux will not have drivers for your hw..
try to execute the following commands and let us know
may be the interface is down..
use
mii-tool
and give us output of this..
system-config-network

etc.. and let us know..

i tried the above commands .................am not getting any display with those command,

As u said i may be drivers not got installed ........................

My question is :
Is there any drivers for all the hardware i mean i have tried for the drivers i didn't gt the rpm for this problem ..........


what i ma doing is if linux wont detect Ethernet means i suggesting to my friends that buy the pci card, i know that i am giving wrong suggestion ........

If any solution is there let me know friends.........

No need to suggest a PCI card just ask them to execute following commands
kudzu
This command will find new hardware/hardware with no drivers and try to configure it..
what about the two commands which we given?

I have tried kudzu also but it not getting detect the ethernet .............

system-config-network :with these command it is not showing the inbuilt eth it is showing the pci card
mii-tool : this command too showing pci card not inbuilt
