Default Web Application Firewall in UBUNTU

Hi

Can anybody help me on configuring the Modsecurity (web app firewall) or equivalent open source software under UBUNTU.


My aim is to get daily utlisation of bandwidth/system resources etc by APACHE Tomcat.

any hint will be greatly appreciable

Open source mod_security 2 version does not provides these details. You can try one of the following

  1. Try awstats or webanalizer to get details stats about visitors including bandwidth.
  2. Install RRDtool and use tool such as Cacti to get details information about network links, and bandwidth used by Apache, DNS server etc. - RedHat / CentOS Install and Configure Cacti Network Graphing Tool
  3. ntop provides vary detailed information about network usage - Debian / Ubuntu Linux Install ntop To See Network Usage / Network Status
  4. Use apachetop - Realtime Apache monitoring tool
  5. Other scripts - Apache Web Server: Log Analysis and Server Status Monitoring Tool
