Default Tracking changes on your systems

Hi to all.

This is my first post in this forum and i would like to thank you for this great forum and great unix service.

I'm looking for a tool that would help me to keep the changes on my unix machines. At the moment, every time i change something(service, file permission, etc) i wrote it to one file on root home, say /root/sys_changes.txt. However I would like to have a central system to do this, perhaps web base. Do you have any suggestions? How do you keep the changes that you make at your machines?

I have already searched but didn't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

Gonçalo.

Have you considered CVS? It can track changes and revoke files to previous state if required according to project.

Hello,

"Subversion" is also quite capable at handling the task at hand. Its also know as the replacement for CVS. In so many words. We use it in production quite often it has many wonderful features.
