Default How to change the location of directories

Hi,

I have a query. When we install any linux package or solaris package, it get installed in the default location. For example, MQ copies all the files in /opt/mqm location. I want this directory to /software directory instead of /opt/mqm. Where do I have to change the path to get this done?
