Simply, Port forwarding is to forward your LAN network application onto internet. Like,if you have your web server inside LAN & you want to make it visible for public on the internet,then you can use port forwarding facility. In linux, "iptables" is a very good tool to enable port forwarding. The Main concept behing port forwridng is NAT. ( Network Address Translation ) Thanks, Nishith Vyas. |
