hello friends
i am new to linux. i have alwayz avoided this operating system although i have it installed as a dual booting OS with XP.

But the crave of mastering this OS has always been my dream. So to begin i have decided to work on a project as suggested by my friend.

Now my taks is to make a GUI monitring all the IPs in a network in real time. He asked me to do this using Open NMS.

Now i am wondering what to do both with Linux as an OS and with Open NMS.

Your guidance might help me starting off and finishing all good.
