Post Office Protocol (POP), an Internet email protocol - used to get or retrieve e-mail from a remote server over a TCP/IP connection.
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) also sed to get or retrieve e-mail from a remote server. IMAP is usually preferred as it offer more benefits over pop3.
