Thread: A 160GB USB challenge (for me anyway)

Unit has Lenny on HD, no windows and attempting to load an OS on external.
Plug in USB, go to partition editor its there on devices as well as recognition on desktop. I have a ext2 partition (nothing on it)
Placed live CD in drive (Bios correct boot) restarted and came back with an error 17.
So what must this challenged old man do to introduce this USB to be recognized
