Exclamation Linux Dell Inspiron 1420 Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 Driver

When I tried to enable the desktop effects on my linux mint 4.0 , I received the message: Desktop Effects could nit be enabled.
I use Intel(R) Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 on my Dell Inspiron 1420.
Plz help me with my problem. Do supply links of the drivers necessary for it so that I may download them.

Thanx

Default edit compiz

1. edit /usr/bin/compiz
2. look for the following string: "# blacklist based on the pci ids"
3. Comment the complete block, like this:
Quote:
# blacklist based on the pci ids
# See Hardware/Blacklist - Compiz Wiki for details
#T=" 1002:5954 1002:5854 1002:5955" # ati rs480
#T="$T 1002:4153" # ATI Rv350
#T="$T 8086:2982 8086:2992 8086:29a2 8086:2a02 8086:2a12" # intel 965
#T="$T 8086:2a02 " # Intel GM965
#T="$T 8086:3577 8086:2562 " # Intel 830MG, 845G (LP: #259385)
#BLACKLIST_PCIIDS="$T"
#unset T
then try again.
