Hey sweta!

I'm just downloading Fedora 7: My first .torrent. I really am a Novice, I didn't get past the installation with BSD: It did tell me that the install was 100% complete, so I was satisfied with that for the time being.

I've just managed to do my first dual-boot with Feisty and Etch: Instead of ending up with each of them on their own 50% of the drive, I ended up with them 50% a' piece on half the drive? By the time I'd finished, I ended up with 5 OS's?

It's been good fun so far though!

Are you using Fedora 7? What little I've heard about it reckons they've found the beginning of a new direction with it?

I just let it go through the night (wasn't sure about what I was doing) with Fedora7. I've kept my machine going as a seed which I'll do for 24 hours to say thanks for the OS. Crazy stuff!

Hey rockda!

My DL took 13 hrs and went anywhere between 0.87KBs and 10KBs to begin with and leveled out for a while at 300 to 400.

256K? You might get away with it in less than 18hrs?

LoL ! How could I write a review? If I can manage to get it onto DVD and actually try the OS, I may surprise myself. Good luck with your DL!!

Hey Tux

I'd forgotten all about this site. It looks like I went down the Ubuntu Road and stayed there. I have had a bit of a flirt with other OS's ( PCLinux OS, Vector Linux, Open Suse 10.3, Debian 4, eLive Gem e17, Sabayon ) occasionally, but at the end of the day, I'm just not a geek.

I have four applications I use - Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office and.........of course.....The Gimp, and I find that the underlying OS is not really as important as I thought.

I think this means that I'll be staying a Novice and enjoying that. I can say at least one great thing for GNU/Linux as a whole: It's very good at directing your focus to what is really important for you personally in the world of computing. For that, I shall remain very grateful.

All the best with your explorations!

all i can say? "thank you very much aka tyvm" and as per the novice? "be my guest aka bmg" we both use poorman's attitude and make the best of it. and why not leave the obsession for Daughter flirty flirty distro and make your own babydoll? be it linux or bsd.
like linux from scratch and bsd from scratch.
i would preffer to run this command
" joe@lounge# make babydoll && echo $? "
when typing the command? make sure you dont type the " " "
p.s. I have four applications I use - Firefox, Thunderbird, Open Office and.........of course.....The Gimp, and I find that the underlying OS is not really as important as I thought. .......... yer rich! i used a p1 100 mhz clock speed not even 5$ (they were about to sell it for scrap, i got it and took over the world in it." and i used lynx and vi and mutt and 80*25 CLI....... DAMN you beat me!
