Thread: New Storage Device

I thought I would just drop this off here. Our new direct attached storage device,2.jpg XFS filesystem to cover the > 16TB. I have read the EXT4 can now support partitions > 16TB, however the fsprog tools are very new and redhat does not recommend ext4 for production with > 16TB. Before someone asks, only one power supply attached to the R610 server, hence the amber light.

Nice to hear from you. This baby is used to store stock market historical data. We have to store this data for every tick of a product, when I say a tick, I mean every time the price changes, when I say product I mean a stock symbol like IBM. So this can be a very large data set, especially for markets that include option data.
