    @kumarat9pm,

In my experience as a RHCE. I have to say that the best form of education is exactly what you are doing. Watching, Learning and Answering questions on a great forum like this one.

When I studied for my tests, I was taking the train daily to New York City. This was a set time of study for me. I recommend that you create a set time of study as well. And use it wisely, no distractions. Just Red Hat learning.

    Before the train,
I would go to forums and open old threads in a forum. The reason for this is that old threads have been answered already. I would read the OP's or original posters question and try to solve it before I scrolled down and looked at the answer from other members. This was a great learning tool that helped me pass my RHCE testing.

Also be sure to search for RHCE testing at notable torrent streams.

    Wink, Wink........ Vivek

Best of luck to you my friend,
    Jaysunn

    Hey kumarat9pm,

Practice makes a man perfect. Take a look at RHCSS website and note down their course contains redhat.com | Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS) . Most of the stuff is pretty easy. Start practicing those things. I'm not sure about the books and other stuff. You can always ask other persons or friends who took exam or attended the course. You can take course books from them.

As jaysunn suggested use forums to get and share information. This is the best way to master Linux and programming topics.

Google RHCSS pdfs and vidoes and I'm sure you will find some good stuff.

I don't target or write specifically for RHCSS. However, you will find lots security related articles on nixcraft.

    Good luck with your studies!

Certificates are way too much overrated. A college degree or diploma is must if you want a good job

    take care

    If I may intervene...
It depends mostly on the certification that you have... I know someone whom jumped from a average salary to a top salary after taking the RHCE certification...

    thank you.

ps.. oh I just saw that this is an old topic

I would be careful on saying that. As a RHCE and Business Owner, I can tell you for a fact, I would much rather hire a linux admin that passed his certifications rather then a degree. Atleast persons who achieve the level of RHCE and RHCSA have real world experience. What you get from college is just $80k piece of paper and base knowledge on an assortment of different subjects.
