because of avatar, i thought u you are not newbie.You just go through this forum,you will get so many commands are discussed.Here i am just writing some commnds so that you can increase your interest. you start with:
$ date
$ cal
$ cal 2000
$ cal 12 2007
$ bc
$ ls
$ ls -a
$ pwd
$ clear
$ who
$ who am i
$ history
$ echo history
$ echo `history - check the difference
$ man - to read the manual page for a particular command.if u dont understand the meaning of particular command you just write that command with man like:
$ man wc

Try for these commands and use them with man to know the whole thing about the particular command.I am also newbie and trying to get more about linux.
