Suse linux has Iptables - a software based firewall. It is more than sufficient to protect LAN or single server.
I recommend using GUI tool such as Firestarter for Suse Linux. Firestarter for Suse Linux - Download - Firestarter Click screenshot below to see firewall screen:

No it is not dedicated to Suse. It was recommended because it is easy to use and setup for a new user.
There are many such tool exists for the same job
