Keep in mnd that this uses DjbDNS rather than Bind. You might have your preference.

I've deleted samhans89 link as it was linked to malware distributing web site. I've attached my PDF guide. Grab it and use it.

You have an error in /var/named/zone.krishinfosoft.local and named.conf. Can you attach those files or paste them here...

Default You can try dns file syntax checking by following

Hay Mrb..

you can check syntax errors for dns servers as follows..

#named-checkconf namedconfigfile
Example
#named-checkconf /etc/named.conf

For checking Zone files..

#named-checkzone domainname zonefilepath

Example:

#named-checkzone example.com /var/named/chroot/var/named/example.frd

Most common errors done is dns file editing..
1)missing "." at the end of FQDN names.
2)Keeping empty lines in last of the file..

Please check this commands then if you still not able to resolve the issue please past the content as nixcraft said..

Default BIND on CentOS4.8. Only external dns servers reply

Please see my situation/question below. I would really appreciate your input/comments on where to look...

My situation:
- I run CENTOS 4.8 on my server.
- http/mail/nameserver is 192.168.1.93 , all in one !
- I do not have a MX record (but copied the MX lines anyhow - does not make any difference in the result)
- Only the open/external DNS servers reply on request - not my own nameserver
- Where is the mistake?? See details below.

From /var/log/messages:
Jan 31 11:38:44 server named[31244]: starting BIND 9.2.4 -u named -t /var/named/chroot
